STEVEN OUTRAM RBA

Steven Outram RBA artist information:

Artist Steven Outram is a full-time working artist, painting continuously from the age of twenty when he graduated from Medway College of Art in 1973. Described as a “mood painter par excellence” by an Art Review critic at his first one-man show in London, Steven’s paintings are representations of states of mind using naturalistic imagery. Using the changing natural effects of climate and skies over typical land forms, his themes suggest mood, atmosphere and transience.

In his second year as a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, Steven won two awards in their recent 2005 exhibition. In 2004, he was a prize-winning Finalist Runner-Up in The Not The Turner Prize national competition, which exhibited his oil landscape ‘The Climb’ at the Mall Galleries.

Steven has held five solo exhibitions in central London, and a major retrospective in Gloucester Art Museum and Gallery. His work is annually shown with the Royal Society of British Artists, and is frequently included in other Mall Galleries exhibitions, with the New English Art Club, the Pastel Society, and Royal Institute of Oil Painters. His paintings have toured to Liverpool’s Royal Liver Building, and to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, and international exhibitions include galleries and art fairs in New York, Seattle, Japan and Ireland.

Steven Outram paintings are at Fairfax Gallery  on The Pantiles
