Andrew Hood – Artist Profile
Andrew Hood’s oil paintings explore the space between observation and abstraction. Working in oil on board, he builds richly layered surfaces through expressive colour, texture and gestural mark-making, allowing fragments of architecture and landscape to emerge and dissolve.
With an early background in graphic design and illustration, Andrew brings a strong sense of composition and visual storytelling to his paintings. His work transforms familiar places into atmospheric impressions — capturing not simply how a landscape looks, but how it feels and how it is remembered – fragmented, atmospheric and constantly shifting.
